1984 Comparison/Contrast essay

Discuss 1984 through comparison and contrast to three other concepts, books, movies, or events including the “illustration”. Compare how and why 1984 and your parallel selections are models of dystopian literature concepts. Show how the characters roles or situations are parallel to each other, and why they make the decisions and choices they do. Show how the uses of surveillance and government controls the storyline and culmination of the stories.

It’s important that you chose a topic and write a topic sentence. Must follow with 2 quotes from book and 1 from outside source (please see below specifics. Do not put all 3 quotes, needs to be 1 at a time).

step 1 write introduction, 

step 2 paragraph – paragraph will have topic sentence, quote from book, commentary that explains how your quote is relevant to your topic sentence. THEN another quote from book, explain how it’s relevant or supports your topic sentence, and LAST an outside source quote (from movies or any other outside source), and again explain or comment the quote and how you it’s support to the topic sentence. THIS IS ALL 1 PARAGRAPH.


Repeat all steps to complete 3 paragraphs.


Last, conclusion.
