The importance of nutrition in gestating cows

This is a 5-8 page research paper using MLA style for a 100 level college English Class.  The topic has been narrowed to the importance of nutrition in gestating cows.  AKA – the importance of good nutrition to Momma cows that are getting bred, carrying, delivering, and raising baby calves.  I would like to see this laid out so that the reasons supported in the paper show the positive benefits of good nutrition.  I am thinking the thesis might end up being something like “Gestating cows who receive the proper nutrition such as blah blah blah are more productive and profitable.”
I am in Iowa and my college is as well.  I would like to use at least a few local (midwest) sources such as Iowa State University or Iowa State Extension.
The paper does not require a certain number of works cited, but I would like to see about 10.
I will provide the rubric information the professor provided.
I am very interested in writers that have an agriculture background or knowledge in livestock so that the paper is written in a language consistent with the industry.
