ASSIGNMENT #2 (10%) Ethical Principles of Nursing Canvas Discussion Board Watch “The Stray Path: Integrity of a Nursing Student”.

Watch the youtube video link on the “Cheating Nursing Student” posted above. After watching the video take a moment to reflect and imagine how you would feel as Matt’s nursing school peer. How about his RN peer? Most importantly how would you feel as Matt’s patient or as a family member of Matt’s patient? All of whom are now at the hands of Matt’s ineptness. Consider the ethical principles of nursing reviewed this week both in the powerpoint and in the assigned chapter readings. Do you think Matt’s behavior in nursing school violated any of these ethical principles? If so, which ones did he violate and how did he do so?

Also discuss how you would likely handle being a peer of Matt’s in nursing school. How you would respond if you were aware of his cheating during testing? As this is an assignment on ethical principles honest answers are expected, so please do not respond with “political correctness” but please truly consider yourself as a peer of a student that you knew was cheating or was dishonest in their work.
