Psychological Learning Theories Essay

Case Study You are designing an education session for your colleagues on transitioning from a paper-based documentation system to an electronic health record (EHR) system. Time is of the essence, and you have three 1-hour sessions planned to cover the information they need to incorporate the new EHR system into their daily practice. Several of your colleagues are concerned about their ability to master the new system. Jack, the nursing unit supervisor, confides, “I am terrified. Learning a whole new system of documentation is overwhelming to my staff, given all of their other responsibilities. I worry that this new EHR system will have a negative impact on morale, just at the time when we are feeling pressure to increase the amount of work that we do.” 1. Describe how you will structure the educational sessions using two of the psychological learning theories. 2. Explain why you chose each theory. 3. Assess which learning theory can best assist you in addressing the issues your colleagues raise about their ability to master the new system and feelings of being overwhelmed and justify why you choose this theory. 4. Describe what you can do to ensure that learning will become relatively permanent. Psychological Learning Theories Essay

OL 325: Final Project Guidelines and Rubric
Overview
Acting as a recently hired compensation consultant, you will assist the burgeoning online music firm e-sonic to develop an internally consistent and marketcompetitive compensation system that recognizes the achievements of individual contributors. The major portion of the project is divided into three milestones,
which will build upon the previous milestone. The milestones are submitted in Modules Three, Five, and Six. The final version of the entire project will be due at
the end of Module Seven.
Sample report outlines are included in the project text found in MyManagementLab. Each of the sections for this assignment will be submitted via Brightspace.Strategic Analysis Assignment
Outcomes

ORDER A PLAGIARISM-FREE PAPER NOW

The project helps students to meet the following course outcomes:
• Students will gain an understanding of the evolution and administration of compensation and benefit programs for organizations
• Students will explore wage theory, principles and practices, unemployment security, worker income security, group insurance, disability insurance,
and pension plans and how these compensation and benefit items are balanced to provide incentive and recruitment of a high-performance
workforce
• The connection between the organization’s mission, objectives, policies, and the implementation and revision of their respective compensation and
benefit systems will be analyzed to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of such systems to the organization’s overall human resource
management
• At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate the acquisition and application of theories and concepts that support the
enhancement and proficiency in 7 primary competencies: strategic approach, research, teamwork, communication, analytical skills, problem solving,
and legal and ethical practices
Preparation
1. Read the Building Strategic Compensation Project narrative linked in the course menu of the MyManagementLab home page. Note: Section 3:
Recognition of Individual Achievements WILL NOT be included in the course project. In addition, you will not be using the Compensation Analysis
Software shown as a resource in MyManagementlab. Instead, you will be using crowd sourced external competitive salary data from the websites listed
below in the Milestone Three area.Strategic Analysis Assignment
Milestones
Milestone One: Strategic Analysis
The development of a strategic analysis guides all decisions made regarding your compensation systems throughout the project. The strategic analysis reveals
firm-specific challenges, objectives, and initiatives that allow you to align the goals of a compensation system effectively with those of the company strategy.
The strategic analysis allows you to better understand the external market challenges e-sonic faces in addition to its internal capabilities. As a consultant, a
thorough understanding of e-sonic’s business environment allows you to better align your competitive system design with e-sonic’s goals, challenges, and
objectives. Follow the outline below when completing this portion of the project.
The strategic analysis is fully described in the MyManagementLab Building Strategic Compensation Systems casebook for faculty and students, linked in the
course menu in MyLab. Follow the explanations and outline to complete this milestone.
Strategic Analysis Outline:
1. Executive Summary (Concisely conveys the project objectives and main findings. The executive summary is completed last, but included first in the
strategic analysis.)
2. Strategic Analysis
a) Identification of e-sonic’s industry based on the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)
b) Analysis of e-sonic’s external market environment
i. Industry Profile
ii. Competition
iii. Foreign Demand
iv. Long-Term Industry Prospects
v. Labor-Market Assessment
c) Analysis of Internal Capabilities
i. Functional Capabilities
ii. Human Resource Capabilities
Each section of the final project should be 5–7 pages in length. The Strategic Analysis section is due at the end of Module Three. It will be graded with the
Milestone One Rubric.
Milestone Two: Section 1: Internally Consistent Job Structures
Section 1 introduces you to the specification of internally consistent job structures. Through writing job descriptions, the development of job structures, and
both the development and implementation of a point evaluation method to quantify job differences objectively, you build the framework for internal equity.
In Section 1, you will focus on building an internally consistent compensation system. An internally consistent compensation system design will clearly define the
relative value of each e-sonic sample job, creating a job hierarchy and an objective rationale for pay differences.
As an e-sonic consultant, you are offered a sample of e-sonic jobs in Section 1. Currently, e-sonic employs 100 people and will be hiring many more. However, for
the purpose of this simulation, you are asked to work with the sample of four jobs offered (see Appendix 2 for sample jobs, located in the MyManagementLab
project tab). Limiting the number of jobs removes one level of complexity from the simulation and allows you to focus on learning the functions of compensation
system design. The framework you develop classifying sample jobs can easily be adapted in the future to include all e-sonic positions.
Section 1 Outline:
1. Create Job Descriptions
2. Create Job Structures
3. Build Point Evaluation Method
a) Select benchmark jobs.
b) Choose compensable factors based upon benchmark jobs.
c) Define factor degree statements.
d) Determine weights for each compensable factor.
4. Calculate Point Values for e-Sonic Jobs
a) Determine point value for each compensable factor.
b) Use the job evaluation worksheet to calculate point values for each position.
c) Distribute points for each compensable factor across degree statements.
d) Rate jobs using point method.
e) Individually rate jobs to ensure reliability.
f) Resolve any discrepancies in point totals.
g) Rank jobs in each job structure according to results of your point evaluation.
Each section of the final project should be 5–7 pages in length. Section 1: Internally Consistent Job Structures is due at the end of Module Five. It will be
graded with the Milestone Two Rubric.
Milestone Three: Section 2: External Competitiveness
Section 2 shifts your focus outside the company to compare pay rates of positions inside the firm with similar positions in the external market place. The shift to
outside the company will move you away from the previous focus on e-sonic’s internal consistency to external competitiveness. Conducting an analysis of
external market data will support your decisions about appropriate pay-policy mixes for job structures in the company.
In section 2 of Milestone Three, you will be introduced to tools compensation professionals use to allocate total compensation within job structures. Total
compensation includes base pay, benefits and varied incentives used to attract and retain employees. During the simulation you will use some of these tools to
develop pay policies for each e-sonic job structure.
In order to conduct your external market survey you will use web-based salary sites developed by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics and Glassdoor.com. These
websites develop salary pay ranges based off of actual pay data from professionals working in specific jobs and potentially represent the most current pay for
the job titles at e-sonic. For your final project, you will follow the steps outlined below:
Section 2 Outline:
Executive Summary Findings
1. Determine Appropriate Pay-Policy Levels for E-sonic Jobs
2. External Market Review
a) Research market competitiveness using the free salary websites listed above, which provide salary data by title and region.
b) Research trends about cost of living adjustments in e-sonic locations. Apply some discussion around leading, lagging or matching the market to
the salary data you found in your market salary research. We are assuming that the salary research you are using is similar to benchmark jobs. As
such, you can also incorporate the discussion of whether jobs you researched would match the benchmark jobs or require more or less
experience and talent than the benchmark job.
c) Update salary data for inflation using CPI-U.
3. Implementation of Salary Survey Results
a) Create pay grades and ranges by integrating external market data with internal pay grades.
b) Evaluate and summarize decisions made for each job structure.
Each section of the final project should be 5–7 pages in length. Section 2: External Marketplace is due at the end of Module Six. It will be graded with the
Milestone Three Rubric.Strategic Analysis Assignment
Final Submission:
The final project is due at the end of Module Seven. This version will include all revisions based on feedback from your instructor to the Executive
Summary/Strategic Analysis, Section 1: Internally Consistent Job Structures, and Section 2: External Competitiveness. It should be prefaced with a 1–2-page
historical perspective on compensation and close with a 1–2-page summary of how you used strategic approach, research, communication, analytical skills, and
problem-solving to present a compensation package tailored for e-sonic. Each section of the final project should be 5–7 pages in length. This submission will be
graded with the Final Project Rubric (below).
Final Project Rubric
Requirements of submission: Each section of the final project must follow these formatting guidelines: 5–7 pages per section, double spacing, 12-point Times

students examples:

1. According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA), the growing crisis in Burma can be associated with both of the above terms. In specific, the UN OCHA states that “up to 140,000 Rohingya and Burmese Muslims were displaced by sectarian violence and ethnic cleansing” (UN OCHA, 2013), implying that both have played a part in harming the Rohingya people. However, in the article titled, “Forced Migration and Ethnic Cleansing: Rohingya Adrift in Southeast Asia,” Sophie Smith and Jennifer Geleff explain that “[b]y denying them any patch of earth, the Myanmar government is directly implicated in the decimation of the Rohingya people; acts that must be deemed ethnic cleansing” (Smith & Geleff, 2015). Forced Migration and Ethnic Cleansing Paper. Further, they continue on to describe the “blatantly oppressive and racist policies” that have been applied to the Rohingya people in Burma, emphasizing that their human rights have been stripped away, leaving them to suffer through unimaginable conditions. Given this, as well as the fact that the UN views the Rohingya as one of the most persecuted ethic groups across the globe, it is my opinion that the crisis aligns more closely to that of ethnic cleansing.

another example

  • How should the international community respond to the ongoing crisis?

– The situation that is occurring in Mynamar is cruel, inhumane, and needs to be addressed now; there are people being killed, raped, and tortured. Myanmar is continuing to experience the Rohingya refugee crisis, an estimated 800,000 Rohingya have been forced out of the country with violence and at least 6,700 Rohingya have been killed. In January 2020, the UN’s top court ordered the country to take measures to protect members of its Rohingya community from genocide, however, the army of Myanmar continues to state that they are fighting Rohingya militants and denies the targeting of innocent civilians. The president of the country, Aung San Suu Kyi, has repeatedly failed to acknowledge the allegations of genocide against the minority. Moreover, on February 1st, 2021 the country experienced a coup d’etat from the military in which government officials and members of civil society including the countries leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, were detained. Forced Migration and Ethnic Cleansing Paper. The people of Myanmar have been protesting on the streets every day since the coup; the violence from the military has escalated and has caused an estimated 300 deaths, a number that rises every day. I believe that is clear that this country needs the international community to respond before the crisis worsens. The security council voiced concern over the state of emergency but Russia and China prevented the council from condemning the coup. Therefore, the states that condemn the crisis in this country need to continue to impose targeted sanctions on the military officials, pause all exports with Myanmar to avoid financial assistance to the military. The UNSC needs to immediately impose the R2P doctrine and begin by commanding an arms embargo on the country and sanction General Min Aung Hlaing, and other senior military officials. UN members have the responsibility to hold the Myanmar military accountable and should take measures to delegitimize the military regime. Lastly, the UN has a responsibility to condemn these acts against humanity and should use all of the resources possible to stop these inhumane actions that are occurring in Myanmar immediately.

2.) Aung Suu Kyi should have been held accountable when she was still in power, however circumstances have changed. During the peak of attention the world gave to the Rohingya genocide, Aung Suu Kyi failed to condemn the ethnic cleansing the military of Myanmar practiced in Rakhine state. Her failures to speak out against the ethnic cleansing was deeply criticized worldwide, and her accolades were revoked. There was, however, suspicions that the entrenched influence the Burmese military holds in Myanmar’s politics pressured Aung Suu Kyi to keep silent on the issues. There also existed the possibility that the military’s actions against the Rakhine were out of her control, although this should not excuse the absence of morals in defending any massacre. Now, post-February coup, it has become clear that the Burmese military was intent in assuming complete control of the country. Since the day of the coup, the Burmese military has mercilessly slaughtered unarmed civilians protesting against the coup’s assault on Myanmar’s fragile democracy. The track-record of the Burmese military indicates they hold most, if not all responsibility in the Rohingya genocide. Forced Migration and Ethnic Cleansing Paper. The international community should do everything in its power to investigate the pernicious events unfolding within Myanmar, however China has already demonstrated their position on the situation by vetoing a UNSC measure to condemn the Myanmar coup. The question of can the international community hold anyone accountable in Myanmar would then be “no”, unless a coalition of states would be willing to break international law and potentially start a war over it.  Economic embargoes have a pitiful success rate, as demonstrated by its failure to halt human rights abuses in any country, even when they are imposed with UN authorization like on North Korea. With these factors in consideration, there is no way to hold anyone accountable unless western states would be willing to put down countless lives in order to depose the suspects perpetuating the genocide.

HOMEWORK

Report & Recommendation: Slide Creation Software for Comet Creations

The ability to assess, summarize, and “get to the point” is an extremely important skill. This assignment gives you an opportunity to practice a real-world scenario where you are asked to recommend something to a supervisor. This is internal communication within a hierarchy. In this assignment, you are communicating “up” the hierarchy.

Your goals:

  • Develop your ability to identify key points
  • Practice making a recommendation to a supervisor
  • Communicate your analysis and recommendation clearly and persuasively

The Scenario: You are an intern for Comet Creations, a wholesale clothing business. The business was recently purchased by Shu Quin, a retired retail store manager with 30 years of experience but limited background in small business marketing. She wants to have an easy and cheap way to create dynamic slideshows that can be updated with current sales figures. She needs presentation slides for clients as well as investors because she hopes to expand. She dislikes how the traditional PowerPoint template appears when presentations are shown in Zoom calls. She is overwhelmed by the options and has asked you to research the available slide creation websites and software and select the best three choices for her to review.

Your Task: Read the articles linked below on slide creation systems. You do not need to do additional research (but you can if you want to). Based on the information provided, create a recommendation memo that explains the criteria she should consider when selecting a service or subscription. Then, narrow the options to the top three systems that Shu should consider. Provide a rationale for your decision and information on the pros/cons of the three selected systems. You may want to narrow it down further and include a conclusion section with a top recommendation.

Information to Review: Please read the articles linked below to respond to this writing prompt. All the evidence you need is included in the links provided. You can find all pricing information necessary for this prompt by reading the linked information. You do not need to create an account or request a quote to complete this writing prompt.

Document Format and Style: 1.5-page, single-spaced memo. You can incorporate a table if you think that is a helpful way to display information. If you want to incorporate a table, your memo can be up to two pages. Include a reference page at the end of your document (doesn’t count toward page count). Use size 11-12 font (either Arial or Times New Roman). Remember you pride yourself on being professional so attention to detail in grammar, tone, format, and content is vital. Thoughtfully consider the use of bolding, headings, and white space to organize information and make skimming easier.

This document should have evidence supporting your claims. For instance, if you say “The monkey population in Dallas is a significant problem” that should be follow with support like “This year, Brown (2020)reported that the monkey population has grown by 200% in the past five years. HOMEWORK

The FDA recommended maximum daily sodium intake is at 2,300mg. However, there are several restaurant items that have a sodium content of over 4,000mg in a single dish! Currently, restaurants are required to post calorie content on the menu and other health information has to be provided upon request.

Do you believe restaurants should be required to post information, such as sodium content directly on their menus? Would this impact your decision on what you order?

Initial discussion post should be approximately 300 words. Any sources used should be cited in APA format.
