Paraphrasing Main Points – Instructions

Paraphrasing Main Points – Instructions

Each research article you read contains key takeaways or main points that speak to the study’s findings or conclusions. Paraphrasing is a means to effectively use that research-based evidence without directly quoting. Because it is in your own words, the evidence can be more seamlessly integrated with the surrounding material, such as your own ideas and analysis.

This Assignment isolates the skill of paraphrasing so that you may give it significant attention. First, you select two main points from the same article you read last week. Then you paraphrase those main points using your own words and sentence structure. Plagiarism can be a concern if the paraphrase is too similar to the original, so be sure to compare your version to the original text as part of your process.  Paraphrasing Main Points – Instructions.

To Prepare

Locate two paragraphs of the article that contain main points or key findings that you consider important. These are the areas that you will paraphrase  for your Assignment.

Using the template, paste into your paper two paragraphs from the article that represent the main points. Beneath each paragraph, write your original paraphrase of the content. Include appropriate APA citations for each paraphrase, and add a full reference entry for the article.

ORDER A PLAGIARISM-FREE PAPER NOW

Then explain why you selected these as main points. How do these paragraphs represent important information from the article? Also describe your process of paraphrasing. How did you avoid accidental plagiarism?

Below are the Template and References for the article.

Your first task for this Assignment is to determine what two main points stand out from the peer-reviewed article you read.

What Is a Main Point?

A main point:

  • Involves original research or conclusions by the authors of the article
  • Expresses the results of the study that was conducted
  • Answers the question, “What is the article about?”

What Is Not Considered a Main Point?

A main point is not:

  • The research question itself
  • An excerpt from the Literature Review or Background sections
  • A specific detail about the study’s methods

Where Are the Main Points Located?

The main points can usually be found in the Results/Findings and Discussion sections of an article rather than the preliminary sections. The Results/Findings and Discussion sections convey the outcome of the study and what conclusions the authors drew from the study. Paraphrasing Main Points – Instructions.  The research problem and purpose (sometimes included in a Problem Statement section) also reveal important information about the study.

Tip: If existing citations show up in the material you are quoting, you have chosen information from other authors rather than your article’s authors. Instead, select quotes that are more representative of the article you read.

Paraphrasing – Template

Type directly into the sections below, save the document, and submit the document as your Assignment.

APA Reference for Your Article

Include an APA-formatted reference for your selected article in this spot.

Main Point 1

Copy and paste the first main point here. The main point should be at least 3–4 sentences so you have enough material to develop your paraphrase. Be sure to enclose the passage in quotation marks to indicate that these words are not your own.

Paraphrase 1

Write your paraphrase of Main Point 1 here. Follow the strategies and review the examples in the Learning Resources to ensure you do not accidentally plagiarize. It can be helpful to write a paraphrase that is slightly shorter than the original material; that way, you do not end up keeping the same sentence structure. Remember that you need to use both your own words and your own sentence structure when restating the idea. Include APA citations in your paraphrase.

Main Point 2

Copy and paste the second main point here. The main point should be at least 3–4 sentences so you have enough material to develop your paraphrase. Be sure to enclose the passage in quotation marks to indicate that these words are not your own.

Paraphrase 2

Write your paraphrase of Main Point 2 here.

Explanation

In this section, explain why you selected the paragraphs as main points. How do these paragraphs represent important information from the article? Also describe your process of paraphrasing. How did you avoid accidental plagiarism?

The article I came across acknowledged that there is a need the social work and human service students should at all-time integrate double identities. As service users, social work was found to have an essential gap, and the gap needs to be filled (Pulla & Schissel, 2017). Paraphrasing Main Points – Instructions. It was necessary to ascertain the level of help the students and yeh experience they achieved via the exercise .the research was conducted on about  20 students. It mixed the past and the current in the service. Challenges witnessed in the exercise or the profession are why students decided to study the discipline (Maheshkar, 2019). There were elements of positive and negative role modeling, which was mentioned by most of the past workers, and via the experience, they understood what to do and what they should avoid.

Some of the significant problems that were discussed in the article include the feat of being stigmatized .the people who were involved in the research fared disclosing most of the information to the group or the peer for fear of being stigmatized or being subjected to some sort of discrimination (Pulla & Schissel, 2017). This was recorded and ascertained. Although there could be a positive outcome, they acknowledged that there could be positivity in the research, but they feared the likely results. Via the integration of the professionals and the persons, they can work hand in hand via the available instructors. They can quickly identify themselves and solve the challenges of an identity crisis.

As an advanced human service professional practitioner, it is accurate and better to connect with the article since it is conclusive at all the two levels in professionalism and also in human service. I have the part-work with a  human service practitioner who consistently fails to touch on issues regarding their experience on issues about their mental health or the mentals state of their patients .some some of the notable reason for the failure to address such problems include the fear of being reprimanded after revealing the patient’s confidential information. It is known that the patient’s data must be handled with a lot of secrecy and confidentiality. Another reason could be due to the fear of their job security and also having a fear of the authority (Martin, 2019). The service can rely on history and plays a crucial role in uplifting and improving the quality of life of the patients. Silence should be discouraged at all costs since it could be serving as a way in which there can be a reinforcement of the stigmatization of various mental states. The researchers are advocating for a better way in which it is possible to integrate the identities and also having the services normalized. The experience can be attributed to being a reason for the success of both parties. The available barriers are responsible for shaping us and hence can have an adverse effect.

ORDER A PLAGIARISM-FREE PAPER NOW

Based on past experience, it is true to say that an individual can be affected by benzodiazepine and elements of anxiety. It is true for individuals who are experienced in the human service approach when dealing with individuals with mental problems (Martin, 2019)..via the experience, and it is possible to explain effectively describe the challenges and the benefits of the approach, especially if there is appositive rapport created during dialogues.

Via the research,  it is true to say that there is a need to think and analyze the possibilities is of discussing the past service use and when still working in the profession. I consider the best way to do it to negate or eliminate the elements of stigma. The likely effect is to get the necessary assistance. Care must be taken in understanding the best way to revealing the information.

Conclusion

There is a need to be careful in disclosing some essential information since medical information and history must be held with a lot of confidentiality. It is also vital that there should be attempts to reduce the anxiety. The research conducted must capture a large number of participants so as to have credible results. There is also a need to remain relevant and dynamic in adverse human service professional practitioners to be able to curb the challenges that might arise. Paraphrasing Main Points – Instructions.

Assignment Content

  1. Purpose
This assignment is intended to give you an opportunity to strengthen your skills in gathering and analyzing business-related information. It provides a deeper understanding of how companies can look at globalization as part of their strategic and operational plans. The assignment has two parts: one focused on information research and analysis, and the other is on applied analytics.

    Resources:

    • Microsoft Excel®
    • How Netflix Expanded to 190 Countries in 7 Years” from Harvard Business Review
    • Call Center Waiting Time
    • Part 1: Globalization and Information Research
Context: Companies that perform well in their country of origin usually consider expanding operations in new international markets. Deciding where, how, and when to expand is not an easy task, though.

Many issues need to be considered before crafting an expansion strategy and investing significant resources to this end, including:

    • the level of demand to be expected for the company’s products/services
    • presence of local competitors
    • the regulatory, economic, demographic, and political environments
    • Carefully researching and analyzing these and other factors can help mitigate the inherent risk associated with an overseas expansion strategy, thus increasing the likelihood of success. Globalization and Information Research

As a data analyst in your company’s business development department, you’ve been tasked with the responsibility of recommending countries for international expansion. You’ll write a report to the company’s executive team with your research, analysis, and recommendations.

      Instructions:
Write a 525-word summary covering the following items:

    • According to the article listed above, what were the most important strategic moves that propelled Netflix’s successful international expansion?
    • The article mentions investments in big data and analytics as one of the elements accompanying the second phase of overseas expansion. Why was this investment important? What type of information did Netflix derive from the data collected?
    • According to the article, what is exponential globalization?
    • Not all international expansion strategies are a resounding success, however. Research an article or video that discusses an instance in which an American company’s expansion efforts in another country failed. According to the article/video you selected, what were the main reasons for this failure? Do you agree with this assessment?
    • Explain some of the reasons why certain companies’ expansion plans have failed in the past.
    • Part 2: Hypothesis testing
Context: Your organization is evaluating the quality of its call center operations. One of the most important metrics in a call center is Time in Queue (TiQ), which is the time a customer has to wait before he/she is serviced by a Customer Service Representative (CSR). If a customer has to wait for too long, he/she is more likely to get discouraged and hang up. Furthermore, customers who have to wait too long in the queue typically report a negative overall experience with the call. You’ve conducted an exhaustive literature review and found that the average TiQ in your industry is 2.5 minutes (150 seconds).

Another important metric is Service Time (ST), also known as Handle Time, which is the time a CSR spends servicing the customer. CSR’s with more experience and deeper knowledge tend to resolve customer calls faster. Companies can improve average ST by providing more training to their CSR’s or even by channeling calls according to area of expertise. Last month your company had an average ST of approximately 3.5 minutes (210 seconds). In an effort to improve this metric, the company has implemented a new protocol that channels calls to CSR’s based on area of expertise. The new protocol (PE) is being tested side-by-side with the traditional (PT) protocol.  Globalization and Information Research

      Instructions:
Access the Call Center Waiting Time file. Each row in the database corresponds to a different call. The column variables are as follows:

    • ProtocolType: indicates protocol type, either PT or PE
    • QueueTime: Time in Queue, in seconds
    • ServiceTime: Service Time, in seconds
    • Perform a test of hypothesis to determine whether the average TiQ is lower than the industry standard of 2.5 minutes (150 seconds). Use a significance level of α=0.05.
    • Evaluate if the company should allocate more resources to improve its average TiQ.
    • Perform a test of hypothesis to determine whether the average ST with service protocol PE is lower than with the PT protocol. Use a significance level of α=0.05.
    • Assess if the new protocol served its purpose. (Hint: this should be a test of means for 2 independent groups.)
    • Submit your calculations and a 175-word summary of your conclusions.

Inequalities: Future Challenges Discussion

Inequalities: Future Challenges Discussion

Assessment task: Choose one (1) only of the following:

  1. Discuss how inequalities between men and women have changed over time and what gender inequalities require attention:
  • draw upon Holmes chapter in week one, and egalitarian ideals which were explored through both egalitarian feminism and postcolonial or ‘difference feminism’ (W6) and the concept of the ‘stalled revolution’ (W7), and
  • investigate one or two (only) current challenges to gender inequality between women and men. This could be to discuss the persistence of unequal pay. Or students could discuss the gender inequality as this relates to the ‘stalled revolution’, which shows the contemporary existence of gender norms at work in the time of COVID-19 where within heterosexual relations, women and men are working from home and educating children (W7s example and do additional academic research on this), or the sexism within some industries or workplaces highlighted by #Metoo, as a problem within Global North more generally. Students can take one or two of the above examples or will choose their own one or two relevant examples to discuss 1. above.

  1. Explore how social inequalities manifest in some societies which produce some ‘lives as worth living and others as unliveable’ (see Butler, 2016 W8, also 2004). This essay topic can relate to how some groups of people can still be constructed as lesser: sexual expressions which do not adhere to heterosexuality, lesbian, gay, bisexual trans, intersex and queer plus (LGBTIQ+) (W8), racialised peoples (Du Bois, W2) who become incarcerated on mass, Waquant (W4) (W10, and W11), and lower socio-economic groups (Bauman (W3), Sassen (W4). Taking the intersection of two central elements, such as racialisation processes and sexuality, explore 2.
  2. Take any two or three (only) weeks required and recommended readings (where relevant) to critically investigate how social inequalities are upheld in society. Students can examine how health inequalities relate to racialization processes and gender, for example (see, for instance, Ws6, 7, 8 and 9 and Ws10, 11, W12 and Du Bois W2). Or how understandings of ethnicity (Carter W1, Ang and Hage W11) and ‘race’ (Walter W11, and W10 and W12) have operated in some countries through social inclusion and exclusion, as this can manifest through, for instance, work, education and what gets taught or is overlooked, or a set of inequalities. (Please note: you do not have to choose all these weeks, I am just pointing you to weeks which could be relevant. Students will choose which two or three weeks make connections, to assist their essay’s critical investigation).

Real Estate Finance Assignment

Real Estate Finance Assignment

Question 1:

You are considering the acquisition of an office property with 20 floors that can be leased, with 5,000 square feet (SF) of leasable space per floor.  Currently, all of this space is leased, at the market rent of £50 per SF per year, payable at the end of the year (the first rent is received in one year’s time).  Annual operating expenses are equal to £1 million, and they have to be paid regardless of whether the space is vacant or not (the expenses are also paid at the end of the year). The lease contracts specify that the tenants are required to reimburse the property owner for half of these expenses. The property price implies a yield of 6%, based on initial NOI. Real Estate Finance Assignment

You are planning to finance the acquisition of this property partly with debt, more precisely by taking out an interest-only loan with an interest rate of 5%. In spite of the property is fully occupied, in addition to a maximum LTV of 80%, the bank is insisting on a maximum loan amount such that the property cash-flow is sufficient to cover the interest expense in case occupancy drops to 70%. The bank is worried about the fact that space is leased to tenants who have the right to break the lease at short notice.

ORDER A PLAGIARISM-FREE PAPER HERE

  • What is the acquisition price?

Income = 20*5000*50 = 5000000

NOI = 5,000,000 – 1,000,000 = 4,000,000

Acquisition price = NOI/yield = 4000000/0.06

Acquisition price = £66,666,666.67

  • What is the maximum amount that you will be able to borrow?

When occupancy is at 70%, Real Estate Finance Assignment

  • You decide to borrow the maximum amount permitted and to finance the remaining amount with equity. But you soon realize that in case of occupancy drops, it is also likely that rental prices will drop. In order to evaluate such risk, please calculate the combination of rental values and occupancy rates so that the property cash-flow would allow you to meet the interest payment on the loan. Please briefly discuss possible ways to mitigate the risk (maximum 5 lines).
  • One year has passed and the risks that you were concerned with did not materialize. The property has remained fully occupied and you have just received the NOI for the first year. You have also just signed long term triple net lease contracts with the tenants, with annual rent increases indexed to inflation (equal to 2% for the coming year). The yield for your building has decreased and it is equal to 4%. You decide to sell. What is the realized IRR on your equity investment? What might explain the decrease in yield? Who might be the investor interested in such an asset? Please explain briefly (maximum 10 lines).
Question 2:

Appendix A.pdf. This file contains information on a mortgage product provided by Barclays, named Family Springboard (FSB) Mortgage. This information is from the Barclays website. Please read it as you will need it to answer this question.

The FSB mortgage allows homebuyers to borrow up to 100% of the purchase price of the house. A family member of the homebuyer provides 10% of the price as security for five years. More precisely, the family member deposits 10% of the purchase price in a deposit account with the lender, entitled Helpful Starter account, which earns interest at an annual rate of 1.6% paid monthly, or an annual equivalent rate of 1.61%. The deposit is returned to the family member after five years if no mortgage payments are missed. Otherwise, the deposit may be at risk. All the cash-flows occur at the end of the month, except the initial amount borrowed and initial family member deposit.

  • Why do you think that Barclays has come up with this product? What are the benefits of the different parties involved? Please explain having in mind the evolution of residential real estate prices, interest rates, and household incomes over the last decade (maximum 15 lines).
  • A borrower decides to purchase a house of price £200,000 using an FSB mortgage with an LTV of 100% and a 10% deposit from a family member. The interest rate on the mortgage during the first five years is fixed at 2.95% and the following on the rate (i.e. after these five years) is variable and currently equal to 2.74% (as per the information in Appendix A). The maturity of the loan is 25 years. Please use a spreadsheet to calculate the monthly cash-flows for each of the parties involved (i.e. the homebuyer, the family member, and Barclays). You may assume that the family member withdraws the interest paid out of the account in each month, the deposit at the end of five years and that the mortgage is held to maturity. Real Estate Finance Assignment
  • Please evaluate quantitatively the risk that Barclays faces, over the life of the loan, in the product in part (b) compared to a standard mortgage (i.e. a mortgage without the deposit of the family member), with zero fees, an LTV of 90%, an annual interest rate of 2.8% over the life of the loan, and a maturity of 25 years (for the purchase of the same house of price £200,000). Please explain briefly (maximum 5 lines).
  • For all the mortgage products considered so far in this question, including the FSB mortgages and the standard mortgage in part (c), the initial product fees are zero. Please compare the following two standard mortgages (i.e. mortgages taken without the family member deposit) used for the purchase of a £200,000 house:
