You identified and shared your five core values in the Module Two discussion board learning activity. In this discussion board you will expand on those, sharing both a positive experience and a negative work-related experience with your classmates. If you have not had much work experience, think about another experience in which you observed effective employee processes and  it was clear that diversity was an important factor in the organizational culture.  You may write up to 500 words for this assignment.

Choose an experience that you observed in a work setting, one in which effective employee processes were implemented and it was obvious that diversity was an important factor in the organizational culture.  For example, were employees productive?  Did they stay with the company for long periods of time?  Did your leaders, managers or supervisors serve as good examples for their employees?
Now, choose an experience in which you noticed poor leadership, discrimination or other processes that were inefficient or ineffective.  For example, were workplace policies fair to all employees, regardless of gender, race, age or sexual orientation?  Were equal pay for equal performance policies implemented?  (Keep in mind that often, we can learn important lessons from those people whom we never want to emulate, or follow their example!)
For each of the experiences above in questions #2 and #3, list two “lessons learned” that you believe contributed to your personal growth and professional development.  Why did you choose these lessons and how do you plan to incorporate these lessons in your future career?

Read Chapters 16 and 17 of Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health and Chapters 31.18a and 31.18b of Kaplan & Sadock’s Synopsis of Psychiatry. 
Research current studies on evidence-based treatment of children and/or adolescents with psychiatric disorders. The National University Library is a great resource. 
Write an 8-page paper that addresses the following:

o Outcome evidence of psychotherapy in the treatment of psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents

As mentioned in the lecture, in 1989 Francis Fukuyama argued that liberal democracy was triumphant and revolutions were obsolete.  After reading the selection from his essay, and at least two of the other three articles/podcasts, your assignment is to:

Complete a web search to see if there have been any revolutions in the 21st century. Be sure to distinguish between revolutions, civil wars, revolts, and riots. We are looking for POLITICAL revolutions that have been successful. We are not looking for cultural revolutions, scientific revolutions, or revolutionary social movements (Black Lives Matter for example). 

Be careful about the sources that you choose in your web search. If you do not use high quality sources you will not receive full credit.
Remember Wikipedia is not an acceptable source. Wikipedia can be a good starting point, but you must then verify the information on reliable academic or news websites.
Websites like “Toptenz or Ranker” are also not reliable sources. They are not written by academics or journalists. Their lists were written by freelance writers who were paid $50 per list. Here are the credentials of the author of the “Top 10 Most Notable Revolutions:”

Write (Paragraph 1 of 2): Briefly describe what you found in your web search. Have there been political revolutions since 2000? And if so, where and when did they occur? Why do they constitute revolutions? Be sure to include specific details about the revolution you choose. Do not just list names of revolutions. Also, do not include technological, scientific or cultural revolutions. These are not the subject of the Fukuyama essay.

For this assignment, select a specific substance use disorder or gambling to be your focus. The assignment focus is independent of the other two unit assignments that you will develop later in this course.

Review theories that explain addiction, using the specific addiction selected, to illustrate the key concepts. Next, describe the impact of this substance use (or gambling) on the individual, family, and community by integrating relevant scholarly sources. Your paper should address the following points:
