1. InstructionsA privately owned island off the coast of Florida has been left to you by the eccentric owner who recently died. The island is large enough for several small communities to be developed. Create a name for your island. You want to start on the right foot by establishing a local government, a judicial system, law enforcement system, and other services typically provided by local and state governments. When setting up a local government, please limit your selection to those styles found in the United States, and avoid dictator, monarchy, or communist systems. For the Unit VII Project, describe the following points:the type of local government you would establish (e.g., county, city);the form of that government (e.g., township, municipal charter);the management system (e.g., commission, mayor, council);how leadership positions would be instated (e.g., appointment, election);the type of law enforcement and judicial system (how judges are selected) you would put into place; andother services typically provided for by local and state governments. Be sure to explain the role of bureaucracies in these services, including how taxes support these services and how those taxes will be collected. You can mix and match your government, judicial, and law enforcement decisions, but you must fully explain the reasons why you chose the types of systems. You must also address how your government would work with other governments/agencies and in what ways. You can pull concepts from previous readings in this course (not just those assigned in this unit) in order to develop this project. The video tutorial Library Research: An Overview will help you research various aspects of this project.Your project must be at least three full pages in length, not counting the title page and references page. Remember to have an introduction and conclusion to your paper. Library and outside sources are a requirement, and you must use at least three resources to support ideas in your analysis. Avoid conversational tone, and remember that this is an academic assignment, so you must use proper APA Style, grammar, and punctuation.2. RE: Unit 7 COLLAPSEWhat is most disheartening when you look at the tax systems we have, is that, for all of the problems it has as is, it is the product of many rational choices with the lesser of two evils. The we actually have many other deplorable options that could have happened, and were diverted by the glimpse of sanity we get every once in a while. Federal revenue leans on income taxes. As much as I can get on the philosophical justification of a “fair tax” system, it doesn’t not cover the inherent problem that we want the benefits of a well funded military, national infrastructure, and the bragging rights of being ahead of the technological rat-race and the boost we give companies like Apple. So, the problems of earning potential cannot be solved by reducing, or eliminating federal income tax without giving up federal level project that ultimately, most people do not want to do without. State revenue also relies heavily on income taxes, but this does split the difference with sales tax. States also incorporate vehicle taxes, which is where each state has a unique body of legislation for the license plate. Commonwealth states also require annual inspections for a vehicle as part of the registration. I have somehow managed to get an ad valorum tax every time I’ve moved to a different state. It’s not like I bough the vehicle again! Municpal and county goverments have even more creative liberties because they are always unique to the community. My own opinion is that county governments should not be collecting property taxes, and that this should be an exclusive right of a city government. Now, given that I live in an unincorporated area, if this wish came true, it would seem great having to pay no property taxes, but again, as much as I may complain that the sheriff’s deputies don’t patrol around here enough, if the county isn’t collecting taxes, they would be patrolling out here at all. So, it comes full circle. We can complain about it all we want to, but I have every reason to believe the taxes system we have is pretty much lodged into stalemate. (Please respond to this in 150 words or more)

Student: Kale Age: 6.7 Grade: 1
Kale has just transferred to a new school from another state. It is the middle of the school year and Kale’s new teacher is concerned about his reading skills, particularly his decoding and sight words. His school records have not arrived from his old school, but his parents said that his previous teacher had asked to meet with them, but they were unsure if it was about reading. They thought it may have been about behavior. His primary spoken language is French. English is Kale’s second language. His parents struggle with speaking English and need an interpreter during meetings. It is unclear what prompted the move, but it appears it was sudden and not planned. Kale is an only child and there does not appear to be any family or friends in the area. Kale’s parents are currently unemployed.
Kale completed some assessments for his new teacher, who noted some skill deficits. Most of Kale’s peers recognize sight words like “and,” “has,” “is,” “a,” “the,” “was,” “to,” “have,” and “said.” Kale has difficulty when he encounters these words. Kale’s oral reading is slow and labored. He often says the wrong letter sound guesses at words or waits until a peer says the word for him. Kale is unable to answer simple comprehension questions (e.g., main idea, main characters) after he has listened to a passage read aloud, as well. His teacher has scheduled a meeting with Kale’s parents to discuss the assessments.
The teacher developed the following instructional goals for Kale:
Given a letter or letter combination, Kale will say the corresponding sound, accurately, three out of four trials.
Given a brief reading passage on his instructional level, Kale will read the passage and be able to retell the main ideas, three out of four trials.
Given a CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) word prompt, Kale will be able to say the word “slowly” (sounding it out) and then say it “fast” (reading as a whole word), accurately and automatically.
After listening to a story, Kale will recall three or four sequenced events.
Shown sight words, Kale will state the word automatically.
In 250-500 words, complete the following:
Sequence each of Kale’s instructional goals described in the case scenario in the order you would address them with him.
For each instructional goal, select an early reading strategy to use from Part 1 and explain why or how it will assist Kale in achieving the instructional goal.
Comprehension strategies
Graphic organizers
Independent practice
Model-lead-test
Peer tutoring
Repeated reading
Explain how you would involve Kale’s parents. Develop an activity from one of the early reading strategies that Kale’s parents can use at home.
Consider the effects of having moved to a new place, learning English as a second language from parents not proficient in English, and any cognitive processing problems that should be formally assessed. Explain how these issues should be considered to further assist Kale.
Support your summaries with 2-3 scholarly resources.
