Lucy Lucy’s case study | nursing homework essays

Lucy Lucy is a 27-year-old female of mixed Native American and Caucasian descent. She currently works as a veterinarian assistant at a large-animal veterinarian clinic in Fayette. Six months ago, she injured her back when she helped an associate move an injured deer from an operating table. She went to her family doctor who referred her to an orthopedic doctor for follow-up care if the pain didn’t recede. Her doctor also provided a prescription for 120 tablets 300 mg-5 mg of Norco for pain (1-2 every 4 to 6 hours for pain). She is also taking Zoloft, a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, for depression and anxiety prescribed by her OBGYN. She hasn’t had time to follow up with another doctor since her back injury. She works 20 hours a week at the clinic, and she’s taking 12 units at Georgia State this semester, hoping to graduate next year with a masters in Zoology. Lucy is the mother of 1 small child ( 3-year-old daughter) and her husband of 6 years is in the USMC and is currently deployed in Afghanistan. Both Lucy and her husband are from a small town in Tennessee where both their families live. Lucy and her husband moved off base and bought a home here a year ago from a friend who was moving to another state. Lucy’s husband Chad, 27, is of both African American and Native American decent. He has been in the USMC upon high school graduation at age 18. Lucy and Chad have been together since they were age 17 and attending the same high school. While she’s never had problems sleeping before, over the past month or so she’s had problems getting to sleep at night and always feels exhausted. A glass or two of red wine seems like the only thing that seems to help her get to sleep at night. Even so, she usually wakes up about three hours later feeling wide awake. In the past six months, her doctor has refilled her prescription for Norco 3 times but he is no longer willing to do so. She’s worried about dealing with her back pain if her doctor won’t refill her prescription. Instructions: Answer all of the following questions in 7th edition APA essay format.
