What do you recommend for others?

Please note which chapter on subject line. Post Each Chapter’s research item separately! 1 post required per chapter. Post your research item for chapter 1 that becomes a reference for your final paper. If you are uncertain, select your paper topic, then search online for key words from your paper topic and items in the chapter (paper topic – enhancing sexuality throughout life, key word search could be enhancing sexuality for teens/young adults, senior citizens or couples. Then select from the search something that seems like it will work in your paper and has the required items below). Then fill out the research template file with that information and your description. Template file for this assignment – either the adobe or MS Word doc: the PDF file has fill in boxes so it can be done on almost any device (i attached both the template) Chapter research items – roughly 300 points or 25% of final grade. Submit it here via the turnitin link below (just like sending a file via email attachment) by due date for full points, late submission available w/ 10% deduction daily. Weekly, find a concept from each chapter that interests you, or would seem useful to those interested in human sexuality and Required – complete the Adobe fill in the blank template with the requested information. research items template outline 2022.pdf Download research items template outline 2022.pdf write at least a 4 sentence (min) description – what is there and how it can be used by someone learning about child psychology or that works with children. This will be used later in the final project/journal. Write the source/citation information including the items required for an APA citation – found on the Adobe/MS Word template file marked as required. these MUST include: Author(s) Title (of item and the web page too if applicable, etc.) Year Original Source Publisher (if book, journal, newspaper, magazine, etc.) page number (if appropriate) No references using the text book is allowed. All must come from outside sources. If you find something in the textbook you will need to find the original source to use in this assignment and/or the final project. find an alternative viewpoint to the initial one and complete the information on the bottom of the adobe template. This is important as alternatives are usually needed in most situations. Save the template on your computer and submit it weekly before the due date in the assignment drop box. This will be needed for the final journal project submission. examples of research posts below – however – do yours on the adobe/MS Word template using your topic and a theme from each chapter: O’Dea, J. A. (2005). Improving adolescent eating habits and prevention of child obesity: Are we neglecting the crucial role of parents? If your choice does not have these then you will need to find another one that does. Just because something is printed or put online doesn’t make it a credible source. SAVE THIS ON YOUR COMPUTER IN A FILE so you can use it in your project. They become your references! And can’t be retrieved from the discussion board after it closes. Submit it via the turnitin link below (like attaching a file to an email). Be sure to save these onto your computer for later use. No References/research items from the text are allowed. All should come from outside source found via a web search, the library link, etc. If you want to use an item from someone in the text find it from the original source outside the text and use that information for citation etc. Be sure to save all research items on your computer and send them to yourself in an email so they’re available when writing your project. Computers lose things so this will allow you to access them after this closes. open for late credit until closes 1/2 credit for 1 week; thereafter 1/4 credit. I might message later with other research links that have found so far. but this week chapters are 3,4, 5 (here is what they are about) Chapter 3 We are reviewing early development this week.. from birth through childhood. It is so fascinating to see how an infant wakes up and begins to interact and recognize the world. The uniqueness of it and features that go along with a brand new person getting to know the world and bringing them to you has a lot of refreshment for adults … nothing like being reminded of how cool simple things really are. At the same time parents are always counting and watching to make sure that developmental milestones are reached. We also watch out for evidence of disorders and disabilities. Catching them early is so important as undoing a habit is much more difficult than retraining. What have you observed from this age? have you worked with any children that have disorders or unique development? How did it go? What do you recommend for others? In our home my oldest son was born with muconium in his lungs to a point that it caused some problems right of the bat.. Later on he developed ADD (no hyperactivity) and so we have had to tailor things to help him socialize and learn skills needed to attend to others. It is so not a problem right now because of that. If he doesn’t catch something as soon as he notices it he apologizes and comes to make it better or help out. It is a good example of how to do right… thank heavens it worked right!! Chapter 4: This chapter shows the nutz and boltz of cognitive development primarily through Piaget and Vygotsky’s theories. There is nothing more fascinating than to watch a young mind awaken to the world around us all. These theories give an overview of how this is done.. as well as tactics that should go on through out life. For instance, when adults throw temper tantrums (road rage, domestic abuse, etc) would be a good indicator that they have not achieved all the stages outlined by these theories. Some do very well as adults living a concrete lifestyle (I always get up at x:00 a.m. and go to bed at X:00 p.m., eat at this time, exercise at this time, and my things are always in their place). Most need to learn how to live with flexability and the all kinds of stuff that interfere with living a predictable and totally controlable life. Teaching this kind of acceptance and tolerance starts at a young age, and like the rest of the stages have indicators – Piaget; accommodation and assimiliation. Helping them learn it can be very fun… cooking and working with playdough can be the vehicles… “you’re making your own pizza so choose what to put on” then let them experiment. so they put chocolate chips on with the pepperonis.. they’ll figure out if it worked or not and do or not do again… these type of learning experiences – and letting them have their own head (choices) sets a great standard for more important things later in life. Of course other elements in life intrude on development. Substance abuse, dysfunctional living styles, chronic medical conditions, excessive stress, social/emotional alienation, etc. all impact development. There is a lot of research into the things that help and hinder development. They are so worth learning about… Chapter 5: (some examples are included)
