The Global Health Workforce Alliance
Responses to classmates must consist of at least 350 words (not including the greeting and the references), do NOT repeat the same thing your classmate is saying, try to add something of value like a resource, educational information to give to patients, possible bad outcomes associated with the medicines discussed in the case, try to include a sample case you’ve seen at work and discuss how you feel about how that case was handled. Try to use supportive information such as current Tx guidelines, current research related to the treatment, anything that will enhance learning in the online classroom. , For this week’s discussion, I’ve decided to talk about The Global Health Workforce Alliance. This is an organization that along with national governments, civil societies, international agencies, finance institutions, researchers, educators and professional associations is trying to address the crisis of shortages of healthcare providers in the world (WHO, 2019). It is of the utmost importance for all people in the world to have access to healthcare facilities that are staffed with the adequate personnel. We as a global community are in need of more nurses and doctors to help not only the sick, but to teach those to remain healthy.

The Global Health Workforce Alliance “There is no health without a workforce, but there is certainly no workforce without nurses” (Rosa, 2017). The United States as a developed country still has a shortage of healthcare providers, but imagine the shortages that developing countries must have when many of their nurses are sent to developed countries like this one, then they do not have trained professionals to care for their sick or teach other professionals in the field. Since its inception in 2006, The Global Health Workforce Alliance has acted as a global convener mobilizing worldwide attention to the human resources for health crisis and generating political will and action for positive change (WHO, 2019). I believe that organizations like the aforementioned one are necessary in our world to help mobilize people and help them understand that the nursing profession is important and impactful in their lives. Even though many countries do not respect the nursing profession or see us as merely handmaidens, we need to show them that we can do so much more with our knowledge and skills. We can help our patients and their families, we can teach other professionals our art and science, and we can move people into action with our united efforts. References Rosa, W. (2017).
