Task

Create and deliver the following on a passage chosen from the list below:

● Small group Bible study (a short, succinct and powerful message with

directed discussion) ● Leader’s notes for a small group Bible study that informs, engages

and imparts. This should include some discussion questions with detailed leader notes for

directing discussion.

Passages to choose from:

● Romans 8:1-11

● Romans 8:18-27

● Romans 12:1-8

● Romans 14

● Galatians 3:15-25

● Galatians 4:21-31

● Galatians 5:16-26

Method

1. Select a passage from the list.

2. Discern an outline, its main themes with reference to the rest of the book in which it is

contained.

3. Engage with relevant commentaries.

4. Present your findings in the form of:

● Leader’s notes for a small group Bible study that informs, engages and imparts. This

should include some discussion questions with detailed leader notes for directing

discussion.

5. Ensure that you have included relevant references with footnotes and a bibliography.

Save as a PDF document and Word document.

Content

● Assessment successfully dialogues with the main themes and context of the passage.

● Assignment is practical and insightful in its intended form as a Bible Study.

Research

● This assignment needs to make reference to at least 12 distinct resources, including

commentaries.

Organisation

● The assignment should be creatively structured by the student in the form of a Bible Study.

The Bible Study should include relevant prompts, instructions and discussion questions for a

Bible Study leader.

Style

In this assignment, it is appropriate to use first person language and a more casual style.

This being said, expression should remain professional and be free of spelling and

grammatical errors.

Mechanics

Written component is within 10% of the total word count and is formatted according to

current Chicago/Turabian style. Oral component is within the presentation time limit.
